New Delhi: A nine-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her neighbour in south east Delhi's Govindpuri area on Monday.
Police claimed that they have arrested the accused who was the neighbour of the girl and frequently visit the house.
According to police, the arrest was made from his house after the girl's disclosure.
The incident took place when the girl's parents went to work when the accused barged inside and committed the crime.
He also threatened the girl to not disclose the incident.
As soon as her parents returned, the girl disclosed the trauma which she had faced.
Wasting no time, the family approached police and filed a complaint at Govindpuri police station.
The police then sent a team to the JJ cluster to nab the accused.
The girl in the meantime was taken to a local hospital where it was confirmed that she was sexually assaulted.
Police have arrested the accused and a case under the appropriate section of IPC was registered and further investigation was going on in the case.
