A 37-year-old man was found dead with a bullet shot under mysterious circumstances in his SUV in New Friends colony on Monday evening.
A passerby informed the cops that a man is lying dead in a pool of blood near Holy Family hospital at around 4:30 pm.
Soon the officers from the New Friends colony rushed to the spot and cordoned the area. The black colour Mahindra SUV was parked on the deserted lane.
The deceased has been identified as Afzal, a resident of Jamia Nagar.
"We are investigating the matter. All that we know is he was in deep debt. Further investigation is on," said DCP South East Romil Baniya.
Afzal ran a Kullad cafe (Tea stall) near Tikona Park in Jamia Nagar but the cafe was demolished recently by Delhi metro.
"We cannot confirm right now if it's a suicide or murder. It would be clear after initial level of investigation," added the senior cop.
The forensic team has collected the fingerprints from the car. As soon as the information spread, locals gathered at the spot and Afzal's family was informed.
"I don't know from where the pistol came. He was not having any but I cannot say anything right now. We have been told just now that he owned the SUV," said Afzal's brother Gulzar.
