New Delhi: A 22-year-old man died while his three friends were injured after the SUV in which they were travelling met with an accident at North Delhi's Signature Bridge area on Thursday. Police said that the victims had gone for a joyride after ordering parantha. According to police, the incident was reported around 4.23 AM on Thursday. When the police team received a PCR call regarding the incident in Signature Bridge and injured were serious. The staff reached the spot and found that the vehicle coming from Khajuri to Timarpur area met with an accident and the driver Ashish, a resident of Shahdara died.
His friends Satnarayan (22), Rishabh (20) and Yash were injured in the case and taken to hospital. The further investigation in the case revealed that they have come for a joyride when the incident took place. "They have ordered parantha at a shop in Durgapuri area. The order was being prepared. All the friends thought about going to Signature Bridge and in return their food will be made," police said.
The investigating agency said the victims told that a car which was ahead of them suddenly turned right and to make sure that the vehicles did not get hit Ashish turned his car to another direction in which he lost the balance and hit the railing and he came out of the vehicle. Later a PCR call was made and police team reached at the spot.
When asked whether they were drunk, the investigators said that none of them were drunk. "The three injured were available to us," police said. A case under appropriate sections of IPC registered in Timarpur police station. Recently, a 25-year-old biker died at Delhi's Signature Bridge Thursday after a metal wire pierced his chest, police said. The biker's body was found by a passerby lying near the divider of the bridge. In another case two medical students had died after their bike rammed the side of the bridge at high speed.
The biker's foot was caught in a stray wire dangling from a streetlight, which resulted in the bikers falling from the bridge at a height of around 30 feet.
