A 30-year-old man died after falling in an open pothole on Friday night in Neb Sarai. The body of the victim, identified as Ravi, was recovered on Saturday morning after the family went looking for him.
The incident occurred when Ravi, a resident of Sangam Vihar in South East Delhi, was returning from office at night. Locals allege that the pothole was dug by a power distribution company for some reparir work, but appropriate precautions were not taken to cover it, which led to the accidental death of Ravi. Cops have started an investigation.
Family members of the deceased alleged that it is a case of negligence and action should be taken against those involved in it.
The cops have registered a case under section 304 A of IPC. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further action would be taken accordingly. Ravi is survived by his wife, two kids and a sister. He was the lone breadwinner of the family.
