According to police, Kajal who belonged from Assam had married Dharmendra just six months ago. They were residing in South Delhi's Chattar Pur area where Dharmendra was working in a local eatery.

In the short duration of their marriage, there were constant fights as Dharmendra on numerous occasion raised suspicion on his wife's character.

Sources in the police also highlighted that on numerous occasion, Dharmendra even resorted to domestic violence that further deepened the marital discord between the two even further.

On Sunday, Dharmendra asked Kajal to come with him to Gurugram where his brother resided. Midway there was again a heated argument between the two that eventually led to Dharmendra murdering his wife.

We are trying to interrogate him further was it actually a crime that occurred in the fit of rage or was there any other reason also for him to have carried out this heinous crime," said a senior police official from Gurugram police.

On several occasions in the past, there have been cases where there have been brutal murders in the city due to marital strife.
