New Delhi: Love for his biological child turned a man into kidnapper after his wife (the biological mother of the child) refused to let him meet after their divorce. Left with no other alternative when the custody was formally handed over to the mother Muskaan, Mohammad Shahid hatched a conspiracy along with his live-in partner to kidnap the child.
Shahid has also acted in several Bhojpuri films and albums. The cops have finally arrested him three months after the child was kidnapped.
In June 2017, the maternal grandmother of the child filed a kidnapping case against her son-in-law's live in partner. The cops formed teams but Shahid could not be found despite best efforts by the Jamia Nagar Police in South East Delhi.
On the day of Eid in June, Shahid called Muskaan's mother Mumtaaz with his son for Eid shopping at Batla House, from where, as per their conspiracy, he gave the child to Kashish (name changed) on the pretext to give juice to him. As planned by Shahid, she went away with the child from there. She kept the child with her at different places in Delhi and NCR . The idea was that Shahid would mislead investigators and would pretend to be unaware of Kashish's intentions and later on he would join Kashish and the child and would live with them thereafter. He later shifted with Muskaan when the cops started raising suspicion on his role.
"After Muskan married another man around one and half year ago, Mohd Shahid wanted to keep the child to which Muskaan denied. So, he hatched a conspiracy with his present live-in partner Kashish to kidnap the child. Accused Mohd Shahid is from Muzafarpur, Bihar and is a local regional dancer/actor and worked in some regional music albums," said Romil Baaniya, DCP South East.
Police teams were keeping an eye on Shahid and his phone were put on surveillance and finally the hard work of police team paid off when on September 11, a secret information was received that Mohd Shahid is hiding somewhere in the area of West Vinod Nagar, New Delhi. Both were apprehended and the kidnapped child was rescued.
