New Delhi: A day after a minor child, studying in a Madarsa was beaten to death by other local kids in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar area on Thursday. Delhi Police held a meeting of Peace (Aman) Committee Members of the area and all the members have been apprised of the facts emanated out of the investigation. Police claimed that adequate staff have been deployed in the area to avert any untoward incident.

Delhi Police claimed that the facts of the incident have been suitably shared with the media and other stakeholders time to time. However, it has come to notice that attempts are being made in some quarters to give the incident a communal colour by spreading wrong facts and rumours. It is once again reiterated that so far investigations have not revealed any such communal angle in this incident and it was purely a scuffle that broke out between minors (madarsa students and local boys), all aged around 10-13 years, over playing on the plot of land that led to the unfortunate death of one minor boy and all the involved juveniles have already been apprehended.

"The general public is also advised not to pay any heed to any such rumours and fake news and report the matter to the police if anything comes to their notice," police said. On Thursday, at around 9-10 am, a madarsa student along with his four other friends were playing on an empty plot adjacent to madarsa. In the meantime, four local boys, all residents of Valmiki Camp came there and one of them threw a stone over them. When madarsa students objected, a scuffle broke out and one of madarsa student was roughed up in the scuffle who fell down on the ground and later died.
