LG inaugurates Van Mahotsav and Rose Garden in Dwarka

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Monday inaugurated Van Mahotsav and Rose Garden developed by the Delhi Development Authority at Dwarka.

"DDA is poised to cover more area of Delhi as Green Carpet by planting 4 lakh indigenous species this year keeping in view its sustainable environment. As a new initiative, the DDA has associated the children of various Delhi schools of Class VI and above to plant and adopt a tree and to place name plaque on the adopted tree to inculcate the sense of belongingness," said the LG.

He also said that the DDA has developed 11.5 acres of green area in Sector-16C, Dwarka for Rose Garden, Fruit Garden and Herbal Garden. The Rose Garden spreads over an area of 6.5 acres with 90 different varieties of roses.
