LG inaugurates DDA's e-governance initiatives

New Delhi: LG Anil Baijal on Thursday inaugurated six major e-governance initiatives of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to make the organization paperless and technology-driven. According to DDA, major initiatives are the implementation of e-Office, Physical File Tracking, Provakil Application for Court Case Monitoring, Online Record Room Management, Ease of Doing Business: Online E-Mutation and Online Allotment of Staff Quarters.

The LG also inaugurated computerised call centre to facilitate the citizens to address their queries. The call centre has been provided with a toll-free helpline number 1800-110-332 equipped with 30 lines and with another number 011-24690431. "The Call Centre will be responsible to attend to the calls of the people to know the status of Housing Scheme, Land Auctions and query of each department of DDA. Query-based data will be maintained at the Call Centre," DDA said in their press statement.

The press statement further stated that E-Office has made operational in Housing and Systems Departments of DDA and E-office of Land Disposal and Land Management Departments will be made operational from August 15. "Files will be converted into electronic format after scanning and papers/noting etc. including draft will move electronically. Physical file tracking enables tracking of movement of papers/files," DDA said.

DDA further said that Provakil application is meant for monitoring court cases which will facilitate to monitor 25,000 court cases of DDA and to know the real-time status of cases in various courts Supreme Court, high court and district courts. Online Record Room management will trace the location of each file in the record room. "Online Mutation Application System under the computerized project is currently for residential properties. Industrial & commercial properties will also be mutated online shortly," said DDA official.

Tarun Kapoor, Vice Chairman, DDA welcomed the Lt. Governor and highlighted the initiatives taken by DDA for ensuring effective, efficient and transparent governance by reducing human interface and to make the DDA citizen-friendly by adopting information technology tools. LG lauded the efforts of the Delhi Development Authority and complemented the Vice Chairman and his team for implementation of e-Governance initiatives which will help reduce public interface and bringing transparency and accountability.
