Juvenile apprehended for property dealer's murder in West Delhi

NEW DELHI: It took Delhi Police 24 hours to solve the murder case of Amit Kochar, a property dealer, who was shot dead on Thursday by unidentified assailants in his car in West Delhi's Vikaspuri. A juvenile has been apprehended by Crime branch for the murder while other associates are still absconding.

On June 13 at about 10:50 pm, Amit Kochar, a resident of Vikaspuri, age 35 years was shot dead inside his car by several assailants who had been sitting in his car and seen chatting with him. The juvenile who was apprehended disclosed that the deceased was a bookie. They had demanded money from him but he had not paid. During the night, they came at about 10:30 pm and rang his door bell. They asked the deceased to remove his car saying that it was blocking the way. When Amit Kochar, sat in his car, the gang leader Lokesh alias Surya entered the car from the front passenger door and threatened the victim with his gun. The other members of the gang, and the juvenile, covered the victim from the driver's side. Surya again demanded money. When Amit Kochar showed his inability to give into their demands, the gang members shot him multiple times while he sat inside his car. During the investigation the juvenile also confesssed his involvement into several other cases including extortion and attempt to murder, snatching and car jacking.
