NEW DELHI: Lt. Governor V K Saxena unveiled two panther sculptures at Janki Chowk, Dwarka, today. Positioned at the crossroads of Sectors 20, 22, and 23, the sculptures are designed to serve as both visual landmarks and symbols of artistic excellence.

Each sculpture weighs 1.5 tonnes and is crafted from granite stone, reflecting the skill and craftsmanship involved in their creation.

Strategically located at a bustling junction, the sculptures are expected to become a point of interest for both residents and visitors.

The area connects key destinations such as Bharat Vandana Park, the DDA Golf Course, and the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, further enhancing its role as a prominent landmark within Dwarka.

The panther sculptures embody qualities of agility, strength, and grace, symbolising the harmony between nature and urban development. Their presence is intended to foster a sense of civic pride and community identity, underscoring the aspirations of a modern and vibrant suburb.

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to improve the infrastructure and living standards in Dwarka. Under the guidance of the Lt. Governor, several projects aimed at enhancing the Ease of Living have been successfully implemented, including the construction of affordable to premium housing, community centers, and improved drainage systems.

A significant milestone has been the rejuvenation of Storm Water Channels 2 and 5, which now efficiently treat sewage before it merges with the Najafgarh drain, contributing to better environmental management.

In addition to infrastructure development, Dwarka is also emerging as a hub for sports and recreation.

The recent inauguration of India’s longest golf course in Sector 24 and the establishment of sports Centres of Excellence for disciplines like wrestling, boxing, tennis, and hockey further elevate the

area’s profile.
