New Delhi: With days to go for the Lok Sabha polls, senior officers from Delhi Police met with their counterparts from nine different states, to discuss complex policing issues in the NCT region and improve interstate coordination by sharing inputs about extremist outfits and terror-related intelligence for a smooth polling experience in the Capital. The interstate police meeting was chaired by Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik and included senior officers from state police of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttrakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh.
The meeting stressed on increasing intensive coordinated checking and patrolling at various vulnerable points to keep movements of illicit liquor, firearms, cash, and musclemen in check. In addition, the meeting also considered several measures for strengthening counter-terrorism operations in the run-up to the polls, including tenant verification, guest-house-checking, and sensitisation of cyber café owners and second-hand car dealers.
