New Delhi: Brahm Prakash Bulaki, president of the Shri Guru Ravidas Janmotsav Committee, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday. The announcement was made in the presence of BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva.
Bulaki, a well-known social worker, and his committee, which organises the annual Shri Guru Ravidas procession, expressed strong disapproval of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He criticized the Delhi government for neglecting the poor by depriving them of basic development and education. “In the last ten years, the Kejriwal government has failed to uplift the disadvantaged, while the Modi government has provided crucial resources to every backward section,” Bulaki stated.
His defection was part of a larger wave of political realignment, with hundreds of AAP and Congress workers from multiple constituencies—Kalkaji, Gandhi Nagar, RK Puram, and Delhi Cantt—joining the BJP. Among the new joiners were several prominent AAP and Congress leaders, including Delhi State Vice President Uma Bhogal and Congress’s Sardar Arvinder Singh Lovely, further bolstering BJP’s presence in Delhi. BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva welcomed the new members, emphasising that there is a growing wave of anti-incumbency against Kejriwal’s government.
