Gr Noida: Director shoots 2 co-directors at board meeting, later kills self

Greater Noida: A director of UP Telelinks Limited company situated in Badalpur area of Greater Noida shot at his two co-directors before shooting himself during a meeting in company's board room on Thursday afternoon.

Cops said that two persons, including the accused himself and one of the two directors, died in the incident. As per police, Pradeep Agarwal (55), a resident of Yojna Vihar in Delhi, shot at two co-directors of the company identified as Naresh Gupta (60), a resident of Ashok Vihar and Rakesh Jain (60), too a resident of Yojna Vihar.

The incident occurred around 3 pm when the trio of the directors of the company was present in the board meeting which was called to discuss some financial transactions. "Only we three were present in the board room when a heated argument broke out between Pradeep and Naresh while discussing some financial losses to the company in past. In a fit of anger, Pradeep suddenly pulled out his revolver and opened fire on both of us. He also shot himself in his head after shooting us two," Rakesh Jain, who survived in the incident, told police.

Jain further said that similar feuds relating to financial matters have also broken out between Pradeep and Naresh in past too.

Following the incident, senior police officials including commissioner of Gautam Buddh police, Alok Singh, rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Speaking to reporters, Singh said that nearly five to six rounds of bullet were fired by the accused from his licensed revolver.

"Soon after the information was conveyed to police, a team from Badalpur police station along with senior police officers rushed to the spot. All the victims were immediately taken to nearby Anand hospital where doctors declared Pradeep and Naresh dead on arrival while Rakesh has survived in the incident and his condition is stable. The bodies of deceased persons have been sent for post mortem and further investigations and underway," said Singh.

Patneesh Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Badalpur police station told Millennium Post that Pradeep and Naresh received bullet injuries in the head while a bullet went touching Rakesh's arm. "As of now, we have not received any complaint into the matter. We are looking into the CCTV footage to ascertain what actually happened during the meeting.

The director of company who survived in the incident will also be questioned once his condition improves. We have seized the revolver used in the crime and forensic teams have collected samples from the spot. Further details will be shared once police investigations are complete," said Kumar.

Police officials said that UP Telelinks limited company manufactures wires and cables and is situated at Industrial area in Chhapraula area of Badalpur.
