Ghaziabad: Investigating the mysterious murder case of a 4-year-old boy whose body was found stuffed in a wooden box, the Ghaziabad police on Wednesday said that based on the postmortem reports, it can be ascertained that the body of the boy was dumped at the roof then and there which means that he was murdered on the day he went missing and the body was lying on the roof for past one and a half year.
"Based on the postmortem reports provided to us, we can make out that the body was lying on the terrace since the date he went missing from the house. We are investigating the case keeping in mind that the boy was murdered and that time only and the body was stuffed in the box in order to hide the crime," said a senior investigating officer.
The partially decomposed body of 4-year-old Mohammad Zaid, who was allegedly abducted 18 months ago, was found inside a wooden box on Sunday on the rooftop of a room adjacent to his house in Sahibabad's Shamshad Garden area. He went missing on December 1, 2016 while he was playing outside his house.
Meanwhile, the police identified a suspect who is a former tenant, Raju, a native of Bengal and lived in victim's house at the time of his abduction.
