Gurugram: It was a lucky escape for Anirudh Malik after he was shot in Gurugram's Sohna Chowk on Wednesday evening. Malik made sure that he drove around eight kilometers to the private hospital despite being severely injured. As per the law enforcement officials, the condition of Malik is out of danger. Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered against Deepak Rana, who is on the run ever since the incident occurred. For a city that is no stranger to incidents like these, this was another incident of brazen crime being carried out in open.
Interestingly, the incident occurred in an area that is not even one kilometer from the main headquarters of Gururgam Police. The incident occurred at around 7 pm when Malik had come to Gurugram in his BMW SUV for a business trip.
All of a sudden, a Toyota Fortuner that was following him from behind overtook him a busy junction and the driver began firing gunshots at the BMW. Taking cognisance of the fact that it was a busy area, the driver in the Toyota Fortuner fled from the spot after ensuring that one of the bullets had hit the victim. Luckily for Anirudh, the bullet
just brushed through his hand. Despite being injured, Anirudh drove to a private hospital in Sector-51 and got himself admitted.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been registered at the Shivaji Nagar Police station and the law enforcement officials have begun their investigation to catch hold of the culprits. "The complainant has leveled allegations against the person and our search is on as he is on the run. As per the complainant, he was attacked because of some monetary dispute between him and the attacker," said Inspector Manoj Kumar, Shivaji Nagar Police Station. The victim Anirudh Malik belongs from Sonepat and was involved in the business of car dealership in Outer Delhi.
