Gautam Lahiri re-elected as president of Press Club of India

NEW DELHI: Senior journalist Gautam Lahiri was re-elected as president and Neeraj Thakur as secretary-general of the Press Club of India in the results of the elections declared here on Sunday. Sangeeta Barooah

Pisharoty of The Wire was elected as vice president and Mohit Dubey of News Nation was chosen as treasurer. Afzal Imam of Navbharat was elected as joint secretary.

There were 28 candidates in the fray for the post of 16-member managing committee. Among the members, Aditi Rajput of NDTV secured highest votes (985) while Meghna Dhulia of The Times Of India got second highest votes (905).

Apart from them, Surabhi Kanga, Pragya Singh, Nalini Ranjan Mohanty, Sunil Negi, Asish Gupta, Shankar Anand, Ravinder Kumar, Abhishek Kumar Singh, Anindya Chattopadhyay, Amitabha Roy Chowdhury, Mohammad Azad, Ashraf Bastavi, PR Sunil, and Pabba Suresh Babu were declared elected as members of the Managing Committee.
