Four held with drugs worth Rs 30 crore

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Monday claimed that they have arrested four persons who were involved in international drugs racket. The arrest was made from the parking of customs cargo of IGI Airport and they were found be carrying drugs worth rupees 30 crore in international market.
The accused were identified as Ashish (29), Asim Ali (23), Parveen Saini (32) and Rajender (26). 'Mephedrone', 'Methaqualone' and various drugs tablets like Diazepam, Lorazepam, Nitrazepam, Alprazolam etc, which are known as 'Party Drugs' have been seized. More than 6.5 lakh tablets of drugs, 2 kg Mephedrone and 1 kg Methaqualone drugs have been recovered from them.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav stated that drug tablets and contraband drugs are collected from various parts of India by the members of this syndicate and sent abroad. Besides the UK, USA, UAE and other Middle-East countries are also their clientele.
Kingpin of this gang has been identified as 'Baljeet Singh and Gajender Singh Rathore presently based in London, UK. They are controlling this international drug syndicate from London (UK). Parveen Saini, is a key man, operating in Delhi and looks after the entire network of this drug cartel in India.
Police claimed that Parveen Saini had taken an Air Courier License in his name and started a firm. This license was used by Kapil Dhawan and his other associates in smuggling of drugs from India for Kailash Rajput his brother Rajan Rajput and other drug syndicates. Since he was license holder he was questioned by law enforcing agencies whenever any trouble arose in their shipments. After facing these difficulties, he learnt the loopholes in his work. In 2016, he came in contact with one Jaish from London UK (Indian origin) also involved in illegal trade of drugs smuggling through mobile. Through Jaish, he came in contact with other associates.
"One Akshit Gulia has contacts with some persons working on X-ray machines used to scan the cartons/packets brought to Custom House. Akshit was well aware of the duty of these people on each X-Ray machine on a particular day. Through these contacts Akshit used to clear the cartons of drugs," police said. For his services, Akshit Gulia received handsome money.
