In the meeting, principal secretary, Aradhna Shukla, said, "We should create an environment for complete road safety in both the districts. Much effective awareness programmes should be carried out so that the commuters must get to know the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts while driving."

She further said that the senior officials of both districts will monitor the safety awareness campaigns in both the districts.

"The awareness campaigns can be driven through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) medium. The top district and police officials are required to put special efforts in making this happen on the ground," added Shukla.

The officials also discussed ways to issue instant challans against violations.

"Usually we see people going for morning walks at various parks flouting traffic rules by not wearing seat belts and helmets. As well, parents, going to drop their children at schools, are also found violating the rules. There should be action taken against them for doing this and we must persuade them to follow traffic rules," said Shukla.

She urged that there is need to make people understand that if they follow the traffic rules then accident on roads can be controlled and the casualties can be curbed.

"Both district administration officials asked to make a proper traffic model to ease the traffic on road and for the implementation of the model man power will be provided. As compared to other district, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budget Nagar have less number of traffic force and due to which department fails to curb the traffic situation on roads," Shukla said.
