New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at a rally for East Delhi candidate Atishi on Friday said that after getting full statehood, the Delhi government would ensure every citizen can own house. "When we get full statehood, I will make Delhi a model to this world where everybody will have their own house. This will be a city with only owners and no tenants," said the AAP national convener.

The Chief Minister from his Okhla rally also talked about the law and order situation in Delhi. "If you go to police to register a complaint they do not listen to you. If we get full statehood, these officials will be under the state government and I can tell you that they will listen to all your problems. When your daughter will return at 11 pm, I will ensure her safety," said the CM.

"Do not vote for BJP because they have not done any good to you. In the last four years they have obstructed every good work our government has wanted to do. If you elect BJP again they will only obstruct our work for the rest of the time," he said.

Kejriwal also addressed problems in education, connecting it to the full statehood issue. He said that despite good education in Delhi government schools, even students who score more than 90 per cent do not get admission in colleges as there is no reservation for Delhi children.

The CM said that on gaining full statehood AAP would open many colleges and universities that even Delhiites

who score 60% would manage

to get admission in good colleges.

From healthcare, housing, electricity, education, safety of women to stopping sealing, CM Kejriwal made a host of promises if the demand for full statehood is granted, which he claimed will be possible if Delhi chooses AAP candidates from all seven Lok Sabha seats. "While Delhi pays Rs. 1.5 lakh crore in income-tax every year, the Centre gives it only Rs 325 crore," Kejriwal said. Delhi government would have made many more schools and hospitals if the Centre had allocated more funds, he added.
