New Delhi: From time to time, Delhi Police has been using technology to help the residents of national Capital. Different safety applications, police verification and e-FIR are some of the efforts which they have made to enhance policing. Now the Daily Diary (DD) which contains the crime incidents of the day from the district is being sent through email to senior police officers of the district.
Earlier, a policeman called the rider used to visit the houses of senior police officers of the district which includes Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police and gave them daily diary.
"Early morning, they used to visit the houses to give them diaries and after returning to their police stations they were completely exhausted. Now, senior officers of the district have decided to take the DD through email," police sources added.
The Central district has started the initiative and the daily diary which comes to senior officers through email is prepared in an organized format with different sections for heinous crimes and PCR calls.
Police further claimed that everyday police personnel have to deal with other daily routines of the jurisdiction like vehicle checking, picketing and patrolling but even after getting tired they work for the safety of the citizens.
Now with the initiative of email system, the police personnel who earlier used to go to the houses of the officers in the morning can spend more time in patrolling and monitoring law and order situation in the Capital. "We can use that person in morning patrolling or give him some rest so that in the morning when he joins the duty he is fresh and concentrate better on work,"
police said.
Earlier, Delhi Police had started a pilot project in which a special investigating team would be present at the police station and deal with investigations of heinous crime cases. They were not required to engage in daily policing of the areas.
