Delhi Police officer held for bribery

The CBI on Friday said it arrested a woman Sub-Inspector of the Delhi Police for receiving Rs 10,000 bribe from a man for favouring him in a case being investigated by her.

The agency officers arrested Sub-Inspector Kailashwati, deployed at West Delhi's Janakpuri police station, red-handed while receiving the bribe from the complainant. 
"We first registered a case on the complaint of the victim before conducting the raid. Initially, the Sub-Inspector demanded Rs 15,000 from the complainant to show favour to him in a case being investigated by her but later the deal was finalised in Rs 10,000," Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spokesperson R K Gaur said.
