New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday said that they have busted gang of online job fraudsters who cheat innocent job aspirants by creating a fake website of a renowned online job portal.
Police identified the accused as Raju Kumar (24), Ravi Kumar (21) and Aamna (25). Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Monika Bharadwaj said that Raju Kumar and one Ankit Tiwari are the brains behind the crime and Kumar use to provide accounts for fraudulent transactions.
"Accused Aamna used to call the victims for luring and obtaining the card details and OTPs. Raju and Ankit, through a website developer namely Mohnish Arora, got created a fake job website in the name of https:/www.shinedream.info," said DCP West.
She further said that when any job seeker searched on Google and logged in the website https:/www.shinedream.info, then it requires a registration fee of an amount of Rs. 10/- through credit card or debit card.
"When any person entered their credit card/debit card number, CVV number and OTP on the said website to pay the registration fee, then said website sent the entire customer's credit/debit card information's on an email automatically connected with the said website," added DCP West.
Thereafter, accused persons received all the credit/debit card information of the customers and do fraudulent transactions. Thereafter, they call the customer and told him that the transaction has occurred due to some technical glitch and they are refunding the money shortly and again asked the OTP and again transferred his hard earned money in various digital e-wallets.
Police said that the accused were using fake mobile SIM cards for calling the complainant/customers. They used one particular fake SIM card for few days and destroy it and obtained new for continuing their fraud.
The accused persons with their unique modus operandi and to dodge the investigating agencies didn't work from office or hideout but use to work by sitting in open parks or other public places.
Fake army racket busted
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police also busted a racket who duped several youths across the country. The city police arrested three persons in the case.
"They took two lakh rupees from each candidate and also conducted fake medical tests," said police.
