New Delhi: Lt Governor Anil Baijal on Friday said the Delhi Government believed in inclusive 'development', and it has been extending support to the vulnerable section of the society.
Delivering his address on the opening day of the Budget Session of the Delhi Assembly, the LG highlighted the various developmental works carried out by the Government in different fields including health and education.
Mentioning about the works done in the education sector, he said, the government has extended the Delhi Higher Education and Skill Development Guarantee Scheme to those students who have passed Class 10 and 12 from Delhi.
In health, Mr Baijal said, "the government intends to bring primary health facility at the doorstep of resident through establishment of Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics. In the current financial year, 62 more Mohalla Clinics were established."
In his address, the LG also mentioned about the "Doorstep Delivery of Public Services" whose objective was to extend the government services beyond counters at citizens residence.
Talking about the implementation of the GST, Mr Baijal said that the Delhi Government has successfully implemented the new tax regime.
"Department of trade and taxes has integrated 75 per cent of it's existing dealers on the GST platform. About 2.25-lakh new registration have also been approved," he stated.
