A case has been registered uder section 457 (house breaking) and 380 (theft) IPC at Manesar Police Station.
As of now, no arrests have been made in the case.
Taking cognisance of the seriousness of the case, even Sandeep Khirwar, the Gurugram Police Commissioner acknowledged carelessness and stated there will be a departmental inquiry to study the lapses that led to the loss.
"The incident is a lesson for us that we must be vigilant at all the times or else even we can become victims.
"Action against the official who was responsible for taking care of cash has been initiated and there are more officials under the scanner," said a senior Gurugram Police official.
