Delhi University has announced a revised policy for undergraduate entrance-based admissions this academic session, as per which seats for most courses administered under the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities will increase from last year's 884 to 1,162.
The management courses on offer include Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Foreign Investment Analysis) and BA (Hons) in Business Economics.
The University has on offer 553 seats for BMS, 136 for BBA (FIA) and 473 for BA (Hons).
"These management courses undertake students by conducting a Joint Admissions Test (JAT). The second-level of the process involves a Group Discussion and Personal Interview, based on which a merit list announced the ranks of the candidates," informed a DU official.
As per the revised policy, the admission process will majorly be based on marks obtained in the entrance test, while 35 per cent weightage will be given to the candidate's Class XII marks.
"The registration for entrance-based admissions
was scheduled to commence from May 31, but due to changes in the policy, the portal started operations on June 16 and will accept the applications till June 25," the official added.
The two-hour entrance test comprises objective-type questions designed to test the aptitude of the candidate in the following areas: Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Ability, General English, Business and General Awareness.
The eligibility for all three courses is a minimum of 60 per cent in Class XII, including English, Mathematics and two other elective subjects as top four subjects.
