Following the mysterious death of 23-year-old in Dwarka, the police on Friday seized the mobile phones of the people who first saw the body of the man hanging in the apartment. Also, the post mortem to be conducted in AIIMS mortuary will be recorded, said police.
The deceased Arnav Duggal stayed over at his former girlfriend's residence in Dwarka sector 10 on Tuesday morning after the party they attended at Safdarjung. Arnav's family members have demanded high-level probe into the incident raising suspicions over his death.
"We are questioning the friends with whom Arnav partied on Monday night to get the exact sequence of events. We have also confiscated the mobile phones of those who visited the girl's apartment and saw the body first," said DCP South West Surender Kumar.
According to sources, his former girlfriend informed the cops that she has been maintaining a distance from Arnav because of his behavior and it was just a matter of chance that she agreed to go with him to the party. She also stated that he had come to her working place to take her to the party.
"Though she initially refused but later agreed as there were other friends too," added cops.
Arnav who was working with a reputed hotel chain later dropped the friends on Tuesday morning and it was then after dropping her that he again returned to her flat within 10 minutes.
"The girl initially did not open the door for some time but when the knocking did not stop, she opened it. After this, Arnav complained of uneasiness. The girl then allowed him in but slept in another room after bolting it," said a source.
In the evening, the woman's parents called on landline and then she went to the next room where she found Arnav's hanging body. She panicked and called her parents who asked her to inform the management of the apartments.
The police were informed at around 5:20 pm by the management.
However, sources stated that the police have found nothing suspicious till now.
Though the cops have seized the CCTV DVR and sent it for forensic examination.
"After the parents' request we have sent the body to AIIMS for the postmortem, where the procedure would be video graphed on Saturday," added Surender Kumar, DCP South-West.
