Five members of Manjeet Mahal gang arrested

After the arrest of notorious gangster Manjeet Mahal in January, the Special Cell of Delhi Police successfully clamped down on gangsters associated with him and arrested five associates, including a female gangster, in an operation from Uttam Nagar on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Vikas Dalal, Gaurav, Kaptan, Hemant and Timku Devi, who have been involved in 11 cases heinous crimes over the past four months.

The police also recovered two sophisticated semi-automatic pistols of 7.62 mm, two country-made pistols along with 33 live cartridges from a white Hyundai Creta car, used by the accused to reach Uttam Nagar.
According to a senior police official of the Special Cell, police teams had been working on gangsters associated with Mahal for the last three months.

Investigators had been making a list of possible hideouts and rendezvous points.

Eventually, the police received credible information regarding the movement of the accused.

In the early hours of Sunday, the team spotted the white Hyundai Creta coming from Vipin Garden area.

The car was intercepted, and the police moved in to apprehend the occupants of the car.

However, the male occupants got out and bolted in different directions. When the police party tried to chase them, they were shot at. After a brief chase, all the accused were apprehended.

During their interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in several heinous crimes in Delhi-NCR.

Delhi Police are now contacting the local police staff in Haryana, who will also question the accused.
