Legislators of the Aam Aadmi Party who allegedly 'lunged' at sacked Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra in the Assebmly, claimed there was a possible 'threat of attack' on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by him, which is why they tried to restrain him.

AAP legislator from Kasturba Nagar constituency Madan Lal recently said that Mishra had threatened Kejriwal to "resign or be dragged to Tihar Jail" by Mishra.

Lal said that the aggression in Mishra's warning was clearly visible and thus he believed that Mishra could have attempted an 'attack'.

He also said that he was concerned about the safety of both Kejriwal as well as Mishra. Had the suspended Minister reached Kejriwal, the situation could have been serious, Lal claimed.

Mishra had on May 14 alleged irregularities in the AAP's finances claiming that the party lied about its donation figures to the Election Commission. He had also stated: "Arvind Kejriwal, have some shame. If you don't resign by today evening, I will drag you from your office to Tihar Jail."

During a one-day session convened to discuss state Goods and Services Tax Bill here, a few AAP MLAs, including Lal, allegedly assaulted Mishra inside the House. Mishra had unfurled a banner demanding a special session of the Assembly at Ramlila Maidan to discuss corruption allegations pertaining to Kejriwal and Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, after which few lawmaker lunged at him.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel intervened and ordered marshals to escort Mishra out of the House.
