The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his cabinet colleague Satyendar Jain for manhandling sacked Water Minister Kapil Mishra and the attack on the PWD scam complainant Rahul Sharma. The party termed both episodes a "well-planned conspiracy".
Addressing a press conference, Delhi BJPpresident Manoj Tiwari said, "Attacks and threats on Mishra and Sharma seem to be part of a well-planned conspiracy coming on the same day."
He stated that it appears that similar attacks can happen on others too, especially on those who try to raise the issue of corruption under the Kejriwal regime.
Further, Tiwari said that last month's attack on his residence in North Avenue too could be a planned conspiracy due to him repeatedly raising corruption issues.
The Delhi BJP chief also said that there seems to be a "threat to anyone who speaks up against Kejriwal and company." "The attack on Mishra by fellow MLAs was unprecedented in the legislative history of Delhi," he said.
Tiwari, who also represents the North East Delhi parliamentary constituency, demanded police security for both Mishra and Sharma.
His remarks came a day after the suspended AAP leader was manhandled in the Delhi Assembly during the special session convened to pass the State Goods and Services Tax (GST), Bill.
Sharma, the complainant in the alleged Rs 10-crore Public Works Department (PWD) scam against Kejriwal's deceased brother-in-law Surender Kumar Bansal, was on Wednesday attacked in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida. However, he escaped unhurt.
Slamming Delhi Health Minister Jain and raising the issue of Hawala and Benami property, Tiwari said, "After Delhi High Court on Wednesday rejected the application moved by Jain to release his property from the Benami Act provision, he has lost all moral right to remain in office. The way the Chief Minister is avoiding to initiate action against Jain, it is getting clear that there is a nexus amongst the two."
"Time has come for comprehensive action on Shunglu Committee recommendations," added the BJP leader.
