The Delhi Police have unearthed a racket that involved the supply liquor to Bihar with an arrest of two and is on the lookout for more members of the gang. A bottle labeled with Rs 400 was sold for Rs 2000, said sources.
The gang purchased liquor from Delhi and Gurugram and transported it to Bihar via road. The cops have seized around 6000 bottles of liquor and suspect that the gang has been operating for a long time since liquor ban in Bihar.

"If the gang met the cops, they must have lied saying that the container is full of vegetables and also produced fake slips. They used to make huge profits from this racket," said Madhur Verma, DCP Crime.
The arrested accused Shafaq and Tamin used to purchase liquor from the NCR and later packed it and transported it to Bihar where it was sold in black.

The cops caught hold of the duo after they received a secret input and laid a trap. The investigation has revealed that they were in contact with other gang members who have been named as Bittu and Sonu.

Cops suspect the chain in Bihar would be indulged in the liquor racket for a long time and there would be more members in the gang procuring liquor to Bihar from various states.  The crime branch has also sent a team to Bihar to probe the racket further.
