The School of Open Learning (SOL) with the slogan – We are the change that we wish to see- is heading towards a complete transformation in teaching techniques with an aim to make it technology dependent.
Consequently, classrooms are getting equipped with interactive whiteboards, lectures are being recorded and put online to enhance the retention level in students. Also, the study material for all the courses are being uploaded online.
According to the Senior Official at SOL, 10 have already been installed inside the SOL campus. However, he added that no more expenditure will be incurred by them in the process. "All the whiteboards were bought from the money that SOL had won in Antardham Award for good governance," he added.
Even the lecturers are getting benefited from the online content improvement by SOL. Meanwhile, the SOL website is hosting tutorials for teachers so that they can learn how to use software and then use these skills while teaching. "We have also introduced Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) ," added Pokhriyal.
SOL will soon conduct online examination and also plans to launch a much-desired course in PG, said sources.
