Despite Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu exhorting the Delhi Police to take action after an e-rickshaw driver, Ravinder, was beaten to death by a group of 20-25 men on Saturday at GTB Nagar, cops are yet to make a breakthrough in the case.

The police have claimed that the two youth, who mobilised a group of men, are students of Delhi University's Kirori Mal College (KMC).

The police have also written an application to KMC authorities asking them to give the list of students who had come to the college to appear for a paper.

The reason cops believe that the main accused may be from the college is because it is located two kilometers away from the spot of the incident.

"We have started to conduct a CDR analysis of the area and will look into all the numbers which show up near the incident spot.

"Our investigation has pointed to the two accused belonging to KMC, but it is still not confirmed as several students had come to the college to give an exam at," said a senior police official privy to the investigation.
The police have also gained access to CCTV footage from a local liquor store, where the two main accused – who gathered the mob which beat up Ravinder – can be seen buying beer.

"After going through the CCTV footage, we tracked down the man who was in the video serving alcohol to the two main accused.

"After interacting with the liquor store owner we found that one of the accused had a Haryanvi accent. Also, the second accused had a visible scar on his body and we believe that he must have recently undergone a surgery," the official added.

The police have still not been able to ascertain as to how the entire mob was mobilised or even the number of people in the mob.

Millennium Post had earlier reported that the mob comprised of 20-25 men, after interacting with the family of the deceased.

Cops have also constituted several teams, who are raiding several locations in North West Delhi to identify the members of the mob. With the police still not making any headway in the case, the family of the deceased wait for justice.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday night condemned the incident directed the authorities to punish the culprits.

Vijender, Ravinder's brother said, "I want to look the attackers in the eye and ask them why they killed my brother."
