The Delhi Legislative Assembly will hold an orientation programme on Monday for its MLAs on the Goods and Services Tax Bill.
Notably, Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian will address lawmakers at the orientation programme around 11 am.
Speaker Ram Niwas Goel is of the view that MLAs should be better equipped to discuss the GST Bill when it is taken-up for discussion on May 31 in the Assembly, a Delhi Government official said here on Saturday.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Principal Secretary (Finance) S N Sahai will also elaborate on the Bill in the context of the national Capital.
This will be followed by a special presentation on GST by Delhi government officials, followed by a question and answer session.
It may be recalled that the Secretariat of the Assembly has been organising orientation programmes/workshops on different subjects of contemporary relevance from time to time in addition to the Lecture Series.
