A property dealer was shot dead inside his house in North Delhi's Burari area on Saturday. The deceased was shot thrice by unidentified assailants.
According to a senior police official, the deceased, Munavar Hassan is a native of Muzzafarnagar.
He has been involved in the property business for the past 15 years.
His body has been sent for post-mortem after which it will be handed over to his relatives.
He was recently released on parole by a court after which he was reportedly charged with rape and other criminal charges.
The police have so far not established the motive of the crime but sources have hinted that his murder might be related to some property dispute.
The bullet-ridden body of Hassan was found by the neighbours after which the police was informed.
The cops so far in their investigation have not found any CCTV footage capturing the accused. They are in dark about the number of assailants.
His neighbours were questioned after which it was found that he was married and had four children.
However, the woman had filed a rape charge against him and the couple was living separately.
The police are still grappling with the motive of the crime and will be looking into his previous property deals.
Also, they will get in touch with his family members to get clarity on the case.
