Members of dreaded 'Mirchi gang' land in police net, four others held in separate case

The gang which robbed people off their valuables by throwing chilli powder in the eyes of the victims was busted by the Ghaziabad police along with an arrest of nine people on Monday. 
In another incident, the cops also arrested four men who belonged to another gang of sharp snatches on the same day.  The robbery gang is popularly known as the 'Mirchi gang' was involved in the Rs 14 lakh loot of a Haryana-based businessman from Ghaziabad, a month ago.  "The gangof robbers was active in the district for the past few months and used to rob people by throwing red chili powder into their eyes. The gang was known by the name "Mirchi Maar Gang," said a senior police officer.

 Out of nine arrested from the Mirchi gang, four were under the wanted category with a reward of Rs 5000 each.

 They were identified as suspected kingpin Sachin alias Mirchimaar of Ghaziabad district, Sonu of Behraich, Bittu alias Hari Singh and Shekhar of Aligarh. Rests of the members were Akash from Aligarh, Sunil from Etah, Ajay and Rahul from Aligarh and Abid khan from Mainpuri. 

All of them have been booked under Sections 392 and 411 of the Indian Penal Code.

 The cops recovered Rs 5.5 lakh cash, eight illegal pistols, five stolen motorcycles, an auto–rickshaw, a sharp weapon and two apple I-phones from their possession. 
Abid khan is an auto rickshaw driver and was tempted to join the gang by other members, said cop sources.

 Hari Narayan Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad, said 

"The accused were intercepted on Sunday evening from Vasundhara, Ghaziabad. The gang was involved in many robbery instances. The accused were brought on a police remand and their interrogation could lead to more recoveries".

 He also stated that the members revealed that they were involved in Rs 14 lakh loot of the Haryana businessman. 

A month back, the businessman was robbed after the miscreants threw chili powder into his eyes in Vaishali.

 In the second incident, four members of the gang of sharp snatchers namely Abrar and Armaan (both residents of Ghaziabad district ) and Sabad alias Guddu and Shoaib (Delhi) were arrested by the police.
 Around six gold chains, an illegal pistol, three sharp weapons, and nine stolen mobile phones were recovered from this gang.
