Three persons were arrested on Wednesday for running a fake call centre on the pretext of providing jobs to unemployed educated youths.

The accused men, identified as Abhimanyu Singh, Om Vasudev Sharma and Ravi Kashyap, were partners of the firm running the call centre.

The accused used to operating the call centre with equipment such as laptops, desktops, printers, mobile phones and several incriminating documents, Delhi Police stated in a release on Friday.

The accused would procure details of the job aspirants from job portal Monster.com and then lure the unsuspecting job seekers into depositing money into the bank accounts of the accused.

The case came to light on March 23, when a complaint was received at Delhi Police's Crime Branch, wherein the complainant had alleged that she had submitted her resume for a job at Monster.com.
She was asked to pay a registration fee of Rs 2,300 and later Rs 6,500 for the interview.

The woman refused the offer and asked for a refund. When the accused did not contact her, she filed a complaint.

The police investigated the case by analysing the call detail records.

"The statement of the account numbers in which the complainant had deposited the registration amount was also analysed. The addresses on which the mobile numbers were issued turned out to be fake," said a senior police official.

After tracing the bank account where the money would be deposited by the accused, the police zeroed in on the location of the call centre and arrested the accused in a raid.
