Four-kg of heroin worth Rs 16 cr seized, two held

 A team of Northern Range, Special Cell have unearthed an international drug cartel with an arrest of two people and also confiscated four kilograms of heroin worth Rs 16 crore.
The team led by Inspector Attar Singh arrested the duo, Darbara Singh alias Billa aged 48 years and 19-year-old Ajay alias Sandeep Singh, both residents of village Lakh Pur, District Saheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab. 

They were arrested from the road near Najafgarh drain, Uttam Nagar in Delhi.

Along with the other recovery, one Alto car with Punjab's registration number and 03 mobile phones with SIM cards used in the drug trafficking were also recovered by the cops.

Sleuths of Special Cell of Northern Range were working on information that an international narcotic drug cartel is active in the states of UP, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana etc. Members of this cartel are involved in the supply of high-grade heroin in Delhi, NCR, UP, Punjab. 

The drug was smuggled from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The arrested duo was thoroughly interrogated and revealed the details of their associates including the source of their supply. 
It was found that they used to get the supply from a person residin in the area of Uttam Nagar, Delhi. 

On May 1 both of them had received the drug from a Delhi supplier.

"They also disclosed that these suppliers used to get the supply of heroin directly from Afghanistan and Pakistan. 

It was also known that couriers from Afghanistan and Pakistan used to bring heroin in their stomachs by inhaling capsules of heroin. 

These carriers used to hand over the heroin to these suppliers in Delhi which was being further supplied to drug dealers in Delhi, UP, Punjab, and Haryana," said Sanjeev Yadav, DCP Special Cell.
 These suppliers also used to send consignments of heroin to other countries including the following countries England, France, Canada and South 
Africa through courier companies and other modes.
