NEW DELHI: The political leaders across the spectrum on Monday expressed their gratitude for the residents of Delhi after the poll day on May 12. A section of the party leaders also questioned the malfunctioning of the EVMs and also deletion of voters' name. "Aam Aadmi Party volunteers of East Delhi ran a spectacular campaign. At no point did it feel like my election alone. I want to thank each one of your for your spectacular commitment, drive and passion," tweeted AAP leader Atishi.
Arvind Singh Lovely who fought against Atishi from Congress in the East Delhi seat also said, "I thank all the residents, voters and the workers of the party who supported me in this election." Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president and Congress candidate for the North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency Sheila Dikshit thanked the voters of Delhi for turning out in large numbers to exercise their franchise in a peaceful manner. She also thanked the Election Commission, the Delhi Police and the staff who manned the polling stations, for enabling the citizens of Delhi cast their votes in a smooth and orderly way. She thanked the Delhi Police for ensuring peaceful polling as no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in Delhi.
Delhi BJP chief and North East Delhi BJP candidate Manoj Tiwari said, "I want to thank all the people who stood beside me and supported me. I am also thankful to the voters of Delhi." He also asserted that the BJP will win all the seats in this election from Delhi. After the poll day, BJP's East Delhi candidate, the cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir said, "Without the help of the people and supporters I am no one. I thank all the workers and supporters of the party in East Delhi."
