NEW DELHI: A man and a woman allegedly committed suicide inside a hotel in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden. The bodies of the couple and a suicide note were discovered on Saturday evening by the hotel staff.
At 5.20 pm on Saturday, Delhi Police received a call from Hotel Aman Deluxe that a couple who had checked in on Friday were not opening the door to their room. A police team soon arrived at the spot and broke open the door, only to find the couple lying dead on the bed.
Further inquiry revealed that the couple, both reportedly in their mid-twenties, had checked in around 8.30 am Friday as husband and wife. The male victim had entered his name as K Suresh, resident of Putuvalli Pallippad in Alappuzha, Kerela. Police have not yet identified the female victim.
A suicide note written in Malayalam, believed to be written by the deceased male, was recovered by cops. In the three line note, the victim had apologised to his mother and said that he and his wife did not wish to live together anymore.
Police said that around 9.30 am, the couple had asked for parathas with curd and two cups of tea for breakfast. The couple had consumed the tea but left the food untouched inside their room. "Initial investigations reveal it to be an act of suicide. Further investigations are in progress," DCP West, Vijay Kumar said.
