CM visits Kondli mohalla clinic, raps officials over shortcomings

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday made a surprise visit to the Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic (AAMC) in Kondli and pulled up health and PWD officials over shortcomings at the centre.

The Chief Minister decided to make a surprise visit after he received complaints about non-availability of some medicines and infrastructural problems at the clinic. The complaints were received at the Janta Samvad conducted by the Chief Minister.

"The Chief Minister checked the medicine availability registers and pulled up the officials of the health department over the non-availability of some medicines at the clinic. The health department was also pulled up over tests not being done at the centre. He also pulled up the public works department (PWD) officials over the non-functioning of the air condition and problem in the main door of the clinic," said an official.

Unhappy over the state of affairs at the clinic, the CM called a meeting immediately with the minister and secretaries of the concerned department in his office.

"During the meeting, the CM directed the health secretary to take immediate measures to ensure availability of all medicines with immediate effect, tests to start immediately at the centre. The official ensured the Chief Minister that all the directions would be complied with immediately," said an official.

The official added that decision was also taken in the meeting to install CCTV cameras inside the clinics to monitor the upkeep of the centre and proper functioning.
