Before the rally, Chadha slammed BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri alleging "goondagardi". "Stop your hooliganism in South Delhi. Come 12th May, the day of elections, we will see the people of South Delhi unanimously reject your kind of politics. And once elected, I will send all you goons to jail, where you ought to be. Your fight is with me, so I am ready to take you on at any place and time of your choosing," said Chadha. A statement issued by him noted, " For the past 5 years, politics of fear and intimidation have gripped South Delhi. Now facing imminent defeat, a rattled BJP is resorting to their signature hooliganism to create fear. BJP goons cornered and beat up a senior AAP volunteer and Mandal Adhyaksh Kusumdevi at Hari Nagar in Badarpur Legislative Assembly."
