New Delhi: The Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta launched a fresh attack on the AAP-led government in Delhi, this time raising the issue of private school fees regularisation. In a statement, Gupta said the Delhi government has failed to deliver on its promise of capping private school fees in the Capital. Terming measures that were taken by the Kejriwal government as "ad-hoc rules and orders", the senior BJP leader said that under the current state government in the city, parents of private school children continue to be financially exploited.

Furthermore, Gupta said that it was shameful of the government to take credit for the courts imposing a school fee cap while remaining silent on the issue for the last four years. "The fact remains that the government has done nothing during the last four years and it is solely responsible for the present states of affairs," he said.

Gupta also said that while the Delhi government is concerned about all the schools it has built on government land, it fails monumentally when it comes to reigning in the private schools of Delhi, as a result failing to bring meaningful legislative reform in the sector. "The government has failed to evolve any policy for them," he added.
