CISF restores bag containing Rs 2.03L cash to rightful owner

New Delhi: CISF on Tuesday restored the purse containing cash Rs 2.03 lakh and valuables to the rightful owner at Vaishali Metro Station.

According to CISF on October 29, assistant sub-inspector S P Singh of CISF noticed an unclaimed purse lying on the output roller of X-BIS machine at Vaishali metro station. On opening the purse, cash amounting to Rs.2,03,000 and a pair of golden colour earrings were found inside the purse. Later the purse was handed to a lady passenger identified as Sheila Verma (36) resident of Ghaziabad (U.P.) after proper verification. Meanwhile, Customs at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday said that they have arrested one person with four pieces of gold from IGI airport. The value of the gold was more than 30 lakh rupees.

Customs in their press statement said that one Indian male passenger who arrived at T-3 IGI airport from Jeddah on October 27 by flight was intercepted after he had crossed the green channel.

On detailed personal and baggage search of the passenger four cut pieces of gold weighing 805 grams having market value Rs 30,82,264 were recovered from the pocket of trouser of the passenger.In another case Customs with the coordination with CISF arrested two passengers with Agarwood worth Rs 2.42 crore.
