CISF officials restore bag containing currency worth more than Rs 2.5L to owner at IGI airport
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel restored an unidentified bag to the rightful owner.
The bag was containing foreign currency 3,500 USD (approx 2,24,367.50 INR), 500 CAD (approx 23,516.92 INR) and 3,080 INR and valuables (1 gold bracelet).
According to the CISF officials, a green bag was lying unidentified at the check-in area of Terminal-3, IGI Airport near counter No. 4.
Immediately, CCTV footage was reviewed and it came to light that a passenger forgot to collect his bag from the counter. Later, with the help of electronic surveillance system, the passenger was located at food court in the domestic retail area.
"After proper verification, the bag was restored to Surya Kumar Pillai, who was bound to travel to Kolkata," said an official.
