Builders booked under Gangster Act

Noida: Acting strict on errant builders, who have duped several innocent home buyers with their lifetime savings, the Gautam Buddh Nagar District administration, on Wednesday, booked eight persons, including three directors, of a builder's group 'Earth Iconic Infrastructure Pvt Ltd' under relevant sections of Uttar Pradesh Gangsters Act. The district administration has issued orders to attach their properties—movable and immovable—and stop all financial transactions.

According to a senior administrative officer, 21 persons including four gang leaders and their 17 gang members have been booked by Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration under section 14 and 15 of Uttar Pradesh gangsters and anti-social activities (prevention) Act, 1986.

All these persons were wanted in cases of fraud, murder, robbery and other heinous crimes.

As per the official letter accessed by the Millennium Post, the names of rogue builders included in the list are directors Rajneesh Mittal, Awadhesh Goyal and Atul Gupta along with associates Vikas Gupta, Amit Gupta, Magandeep Kaur, Bushra Alam and Nishant Arora.

The officer said that the builder's group cheated several buyers in the name of developing a building in Noida's Sector 16 area and collected crores of rupees from innocent people. Later, they fled away and the office remained locked.

However the two directors were arrested from the airport while trying to flee from the country.

Based on the crime, several cases of fraud and cheating and related offences have been registered against the builder's group, under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code, at Noida Sector 20 police station, the officials said.
