BJP makes inroads into Delhi's JJ Colonies

Update: 2017-04-26 18:35 GMT
In a clever political strategy adopted by BJP, the saffron party has been able to make a dent into the core party base of AAP and Congress by winning key wards in JJ colonies.

Understanding the significance of the voter bases in such areas, the BJP started their campaign at the JJ Colony early in order to woo the voters. With JJ colonies in the Capital having a large number of population from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Delhi BJP President and North East MP Manoj Tiwari kickstarted his campaigning from the JJ colonies.

Besides coming a close second in most of the seats, the saffron party was able to win key seats of Madanpur Khadar and New Seemapuri. The party was able to successfully pin the defects of JJ Colonies towards Congress and AAP.

Taking into consideration that the voters in JJ colonies will play a key role in BJP's prospect for 2020 assembly elections, the Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari expressed special gratitude to the voters of JJ colony.

"On the one hand, our political opponents were busy in negative publicity and on the other hand in I started the process of understanding the problems and aspirations of the downtrodden in society through contact and by staying with the family of schedule caste in a Valmiki Basti of Karol Bagh.  The experience gained by our night stay in the jhuggis, unauthorised colonies and rehabilitation colonies became the basis of our election manifesto for the MCD elections and we also gained the political fruits of such efforts. The Booth Panch Parmeshwar Sammelan organised under the guidance of our National President Amit Shah and the work of these Panch Parmeshwars on the date of polling became the decisive factor," said Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari.

"The contribution of success on 24 seats out of 48 seats reserved for the scheduled castes was also a cause of our success. In these elections the traditional supporters voted for us and the support of the people of Schedule Castes, Poorvanchal and Uttrakhand made our victory unprecedented," added Tiwari.
