New Delhi: BJP candidates for six of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi held a press conference at the state office on Friday, in a muscle-flex of sorts. Meenakshi Lekhi (New Delhi), Ramesh Bidhuri (South Delhi), Manoj Tiwari (NE Delhi), Harsh Vardhan (Chandni Chowk), Gautam Gambhir (E Delhi) and Hansraj Hans (NW Delhi) met media persons at the event. West Delhi candidate Parvesh Verma could not make it to the event.

The show of strength was an attempt to show voters in Delhi that ground sentiment is already with the saffron party and all that remains to be done is for citizens to come out and vote in large numbers on May 12.

At the same stage, Delhi BJP chief Tiwari also inducted Punjabi singer Daler Mehandi and Hans's son Navraj into the party.

Hosting the event, Tiwari said that members of opposition parties are spreading false propaganda in the Capital. He said that had AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal done anything in the last four years, he would not have to resort to these measures.

The sitting MP from NE Delhi Tiwari said that while Modi gave the country hope in 2014, this time around, people see trust when they think of him.
