NEW DELHI: Alert PCR personnel caught a man red-handed when he was stabbing another man near Agra canal in Jaitpur. The PCR staff sensing the gravity of the matter immediately got down and intervened.
By this time, the victim was stabbed multiple times by the attacker. The PCR staff caught hold of the assailant and shifted the injured to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The incident was reported on June 20 when the staff of PCR Van of South East Zone Kite-75 was on patrolling in its beat area. Around 8.45 am, they reached at Agra Canal, Service Road near the park and saw a gathering of the public. In the meanwhile, someone came to the PCR and told that one boy is stabbing another boy with a knife.
The PCR staff without wasting time swung into action and immediately reached the spot. HC Govind Ram of PCR patrolling van, along with constables Binesh and Satveer got down and saw a person attacking another with a knife. The PCR staff immediately caught the assailant and snatched the knife from him. "The accused disclosed his name as Punit Kumar, a resident of Jaitpur, and that of the victim as Ranjan, who succumbed to his injuries at Apollo Hospital," said DCP (PCR) SD Misra.
