Agent arrested for visa fraud

New Delhi: The IGI Airport Police team has arrested an agent for orchestrating a fake visa fraud involving two passengers attempting to travel to Poland. The police were informed about the fraud after two passengers were deported from Dubai. The accused has been identified as Paramjeet Singh alias Param (26) son of Ramdas resident of Ropad, Punjab.

According to the police, the incident unfolded when two Indian passengers, Saurav Kumar (25) and Sumit Kumar (27), were deported from Dubai after being caught with

counterfeit Poland visas affixed to their passports.

Upon their return to IGI Airport, scrutiny of their travel documents revealed the forgery, leading to the registration of an FIR under relevant sections.

During interrogation, the passengers disclosed that Paramjeet Singh, posing as a travel agent, had assured them of a seamless journey to Poland via Dubai in exchange for 10 lakh rupees. The duo paid a significant portion upfront through bank transfers and cash, entrusting their passports to the agent, who arranged fake visas and tickets. However,

their plans unraveled when Dubai authorities detected the fraudulent visas. A dedicated police team led by Inspector Sushil Goyal and supervised by ACP/IGI Airport swiftly apprehended Paramjeet Singh in Delhi. The accused, a BBA graduate, confessed to running a visa fraud operation

for over five years, exploiting individuals seeking overseas opportunities. Notably, Singh was previously arrested in 2022 for a similar offense.
